4.0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed A.J. Holt's "Catch Me" 27 Aug 1999
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
The only reason that "Catch Me" may have been a disappointment is the fact that "Watch Me" was such a unexpected great first novel. My expectations may have been too high. I enjoyed "Catch Me" and think anyone who enjoyed Holt's first novel will enjoy it as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars CHILLING! 3 Feb 2004
By Detra Fitch TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Jay Fletcher had been an expert computer hacker and FBI agent until she had single-handedly tracked down five serial killers. She killed the first four. But on the fifth execution she almost killed the wrong man. That had been her wake up call! She finished tracking down the fifth, "Billy Bones", and helped put him away. Then she cut a deal. She turned in her badge, retired, and went into the Witness Protection. With her new identity, no one would know she had once been dubbed "Ladykiller".

Billy Bones was brilliant. He was as good with a computer as Jay. So when he escaped, it was easy for billy to locate Jay and begin sending her emails. He also emailed the U.S. Marshals. Jay was to play hound. Billy would play fox. If the U.S. Marshals did not put Jay on the case, then he would go on a killing spree, tell CNN and all to view ghastly pictures of his victims on the net and where, and then who knows what else? Therefore, Jay Fletcher and Deputy U.S. Marshal Jack Dane hunted Billy as he killed, leaving clues with victim as to who would be next.

***** A chilling novel that I am still trying to shake off! Awesome! *****

4.0 out of 5 stars Exciting serial killer tale 17 Aug 1999
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
Former FBI computer guru and serial killer slayer Jay Fletcher remains buried deep inside the Witness Security Program. However, one of her captures from her previous life, Billy Bones escapes from the criminally insane hospital where he has lived. The brilliant Billy, a practitioner of chaos theory, demands the agency resurfaces his enemy Jay or he will begin a killing spree of historical proportions.

Billy forces Jay to come out of hiding when he e-mails her to "CATCH ME". She knows she is unsafe and not able to rest until she stops Billy. Jay begins to pursue Billy. As the murder count rises, Billy intellectually explains his vicious murders that include children among his victims. They are a stimulus that proves he is a different species. While Jay has her doubts about his thought processes, this cat and mouse chase fails to define who is the cat and who is the mouse.

CATCH ME, the sequel to WATCH ME, is an exciting serial killer thriller. Though the story line occasionally slows down due to introspection, overall the plot is fast-paced and filled with action that will excite sub-genre readers. Jay is an intriguing character, but seeing the world through Billy's mind ("The Butterfly Effect", etc.) is what makes A.J. Holt's novel a sure fan favorite.
