What a great bit of kit and a fantastically simple idea. I needed a solution to running my PS3 and Sky Anytime+ via cable (I have a gigabit home network) from a single ethernet outlet and this works perfectly. I have a router in the loft with one port to the lounge, it had a spare port and hey presto! - 2 ethernet links for the price of one. Only took a couple of minutes to fit as well - I cannot praise this idea enough.
I just need Sky to turn on my Anytime+ - they are the most infuriating company, but that's another story....

This does what its meant to do and does it very well .. It will not give you an extra output from your modem, router or hub.. It can however give you an extra port from a faceplate outlet, but it will still use an extra connection at the other end into your router/switch/hub .. Simply put (as best I can) it allows you to have 2 seperate 100mb lan connections running along a single ethernet cable, giving you 2 outputs instead of one, but also requiring 2 inputs from the other end.. Hence why these adaptors have to used in pairs..

Arrived promptly, it's got an excellent diagram of the wiring, it does exactly what was described, very useful, an absolute bargain.
Note: it allows you to run two Ethernet devices down 1 cable. It can't split a router port into 2.
Now where do I get something very similar which allows me to split out cables 4, 5 which carry voice, while 1, 2, 3, 6 carry the ethernet traffic :)

Excellent pair of splitters
Very pleased. As others have commented, the product is usefully sold in pairs, thus reinforcing the message that a splitter is needed at both ends of the run.

More technical info would have been good - I would not have purchased...
It would have been nice if the technical description was as clear online as it was in the instructions when I recieved the items - "YOU CANNOT SHARE A BROADBAND CONNECTION"

useless
these items came with no instructions so tried to fit myself how hard can it be ? but no matter how i fittrd it, it did nothing so in the draw with the rest of the rubbish.
