Does the job,
By
This review is from: Cat Mate Elite Super Selective Cat Flap White (Misc.)
We've had this catflap installed for over a year. We got it because of neighbouring cats continually entering the house - the infrared types seem to have very heavy attachments for the cat to wear. It's absolutely fine, does the job, 2 cats who come to stay sometimes have their own discs and use it happily too. Only reason for less than 5 stars is that it's very fiddly indeed to set. Why not have the setting button on the outside where one can get at it easily? But with careful reading of the instructions it can be done.

Cat Mate Elite 305 - Electronic Super Selective RFID Cat Flap - WhiteThis is a great idea but could do with a little modification here and there. We have two cats, and many others live around us. We have a bangal and a standard moggy and didnt like them being out at night and having to find them before going to bed. So i bought this cat flap which was easy to fit. Its a good idea to leave it on training mode so they get use to using it. Easy to program the collar chips and any programe modes how you wish the flap to operate at different times of the day. My cats however (after removing the training mode the locks operate) were a little confused at first and were frightend with the noise of the locks operating which they eventually got use to. So that could do with modifying. The taggs around the neck have to be very close to the flap door before it is detected, in fact the one has to push his head against it before it does. So that could do with an improvment. I have a (curfew) time set for mine e.i. 8 pm in only 7 am in/out they get a bit confused as to why it wont operate to go out after the set times. It could do with some kind of visual indication to them to learn that the cat flap is now locked. (they can not read the LCD panel on the top!!) Apart from the above issues it works a treat now they are use to it and i can got to bed now at a reasonable time.

Best cat flap I've had so far,

The cat flap actually does the job. It beats the staywell infrared and magnetic flap into a cocked hat. It's robust. It keeps stray cats out, and there are numerous options for keeping certain cats in (or out) at certain times of the day. It's a clever well built piece of kit.
