I bought this on the basis of the classic song Is Vic There and the impressive previous review which really sold the album to me.
Would it be:
1) One great song and eleven fillers (excluding bonus tracks), or
2) The 9/10 album I was hoping for?
Well, the opening song 'Of All The Lost Followers' sets the mood perfectly with it's menacing opening; this continues with the impressive (slightly goth-sounding) Romany Blood. I Want is great and with Is Vic There completes a top-quality first half.
The second half starts well with the driving Going Left Right but then struggles a bit (Somewhere Between Heaven and Tesco's is the alternative version of the Are You Being Served theme tune!) before getting back on track with Clap Now. The live tracks and b-sides are impressive too, especially Tell Me About It.
So, for me, the result wasn't 1), or 2) for that mattter, but they had a damn good try. (7.5/10)
