Amazon Verified Purchase
This soundtrack has the EXACT same contents as the Japanese Laputa: Castle In the Sky (OST), but at a fraction of the price.
Whilst this isn't technically the official Japanese soundtrack, it is an OFFICIAL UK version, which is licensed by Wasabi Records. As there are many bootleg companies ripping off the Japanese soundtracks, it's very hard for those who don't know what they're looking out for to purchase a genuine one, so buying this is a safe option.
Laputa is another one of my favourites, the tracks are beyond astonishing, they're beautifully composed and are really relaxing to listen too (except for tracks 3,6,9 & 10).
The style of the case wonderful, it has a slip case on the front with a simple yet admirable picture of Pazu & Sheeta looking at the castle from a distance, slip that off and you are presented with another piece of artwork, when you open the case up you will then see a nicely themed audio CD and booklet.
The booklet contains track listings, a studio diary, and lyrics for "Carrying You" in English & Japanese.
For those who have seen the film and love the music or anyone who are a genuine fan of Studio Ghibli, this is a must for your collection!
*Also would love to see Wasabi Records release the rest of the film soundtracks, especially from the films Pom Poko, Porco Rosso, My Neighbours The Yamadas, Whisper of the Heart & Howl's Moving Castle.

I have always loved this film. It has everthing - pirates, a mystical land, friendship, comedy, drama & action! I mean, WOW! However, no matter where I searched, I could never find the music to buy. It became very frustrating!! Now, with the release of Stidio Ghibli's new film - Arrietty, they have decided to re-release the soundtracks to some of their older films. Yay for me! I love the part, when you hear the children's choir. It is so haunting. It's around, in the film, when Laputa is falling apart. It's sad but it is also the start of a new beginning. Joe Hisashi is perfect as the composer - he captures the essence of the film with his score. Not battling the movie or moulding to his idea but, rather, accompanying it instead. Painting pictures and emotions. If you this film, buy the music while you can.!
