There is a lot to like about Castle & to be honest if you have already got to Series 4 then you are most likely a fan! The vast majority of this Season are good or better, one ot two just didn't work for me, in particular "The Limey"- come on America do you really think that the English sound like that ? As soon as Brett Tucker opens his mouth you know that he's Australian, either make the charater an Aussie or pay for a British actor, there is absolutely no excuse for what is a very poor English accent - think Lambert in Highlander!
As a series you do wonder how long the script writers can carry the Beckett's Mother's murder plotline & the not very well hidden chemistry between our leads.I won't spoil the season finale but it would bring a tear to a glass eye!

Okay, I admit. I'm not entirely unbiaised here as I have a total crush on Stana Katic but that said, "Castle - season 4" is just awesome!
It starts with a bang and is brilliant, clever and thrilling till the very end.
All the ingredients that make this show one of the very best are all here to entertain you once more.
Sure, some will find reasons to critize this or that but as a all, this season lives up to the expectations of the numerous fans.
I'd say, don't take my word for it and check it out for yourself!
As far as I am concerned, it is well worth every penny...
Because once more, "Castle" is bang on the money :-)

I love this series. It's light hearted enough to be really fun at times - but doesn't avoid difficult scenes.

Mostly it's the cast. The chemistry between Caslte and Beckett (Caskett) is almost a visible force. Is it sad of me to hope it's like that for them in real life? The Bromance with Esposito and Ryan is fantastic - and could have their own series spin off.
Iron Gates is a surprisingly good addition - she had a hard act to follow - but does it her way.

It's not the kind of thing I'd normally watch. I'm more Lewis and Morse - and now Endeavour. When the actor playing Castle said - 'It's murder she wrote with a male writer instead' -
I made up my mind not to watch it. When I caught it at a friends house one evening - I could have kicked myself.
It took me a long time to find the first three series - and I waited an age for the fourth.

Most of all - it's fun - with some romance and lots of murder thrown in. And parenting - and parental judgement.

I feel the series started strongly and gets better each series. Like I said - I'm a Caskett case.
If you try it - I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

love the tv series. Want to be able to watch without commercials. Some episodes really need to be seen at least twice to catch all the nuances of the relationship between Castle and Becket.

This is one of the best programmes on TV and for those who haven't yet seen all the episodes in the UK, hold on! I've been watching it on iTunes with a series pass and the finale is amazing. Great characters, great actors, just such good TV and so entertaining. Roll on September and I hope that iTunes will have series 5 as I'm sure UK TV will still be months behind as they are currently.

This was an entertaining season with much character development, so it was not just more of the same, and the lives of several characters move forward.

The previous season ended with the shooting of Detective Beckett, and this season opens as she is rushed off to hospital. Needless to say she survives, but the `post traumatic stress' caused by the event carries through the series, leading to a serious reaction in a later episode when Becket confronts a sniper with his finger on the trigger. Castle, having declared his love for Beckett as he tried to staunch the bleeding at the shooting scene, is left bereft for much of the series as Beckett has declared that she remembers nothing of the event. However, she is consulting a therapist during the course of the season - which allows her to explain her inner workings to the viewer - and so we know stuff that Castle doesn't...

Castle is contacted by a mysterious figure who explains that the late Police Captain Montgomery, who was involved in the death of Beckett's mother (see the previous series for the long story) has sent him his files on the case, and that he has made a deal with the `conspirators' that Beckett will be left alone if she stops investigating the murder. He tasks castle with keeping Beckett away from the case.

There are a number of interesting episodes in the series. An early one focuses on a costumed wannabe-superhero, which allows for a visit to a comic shop and the blatant advertising of the first graphic novel starring Derrick Storm - one of the fictitious Castle's fictional characters - see Castle: Richard Castle's Deadly Storm, which is actually a reasonably good comic book.

Castle - Season 4 was even better than its predecessors. I am so hooked on Rick Castle and the rest of the gang. He is a very appealing and charismatic personality and there is absolutely nothing about him, or his character, that I don't like. The stories are just as full on, switching seamlessly from humour to tragedy to action. I know some people find Castle's daughter irritating, but I think she has a very grounding effect on her father. She reins him in when he gets too over enthusiastic, but we get the true depth of their relationship, they love and respect each other, can have deep meaningful discussions one moment and then descend into total childish play fights the next. Sometimes it's hard to know who's the adult and who's the child! The ending was terrific and I can't contain my excitement much longer as November approaches and I can get my itchy fingers on Series 5. Ricky baby, come to mama.
