The Caspian High Performance Goggle is designed to offer of comfort for long periods in environments where there is risk of high speed projectiles striking the wearer in the eye. The goggles will resist the impact of a 6mm (1/4 inch) steel ball fired at 270mph!! Caspian very much look the part and do the job. The goggles have a wraparound lens for a clear field of vision. The large facial seal ensures a good fit. They have a wide, adjustable, elasticated headband for optimum tension and comfort. Sporting uses are many and varied - basically any activity that requires eye-specific protection, be it paintball, mountain bike, cycling in inclement weather, motor biking, climbing, parachuting, extreme weather situations, and no doubt many others where strenuous activity is likely. The goggles may be worn over most spectacles with just a touch of contact on the spectacles to keep them in place. Very thick rims on the spectacles may mean there is too much contact. Work protection uses include Disc Cutting, Band Saw work, Nail Gun, Industrial Sanding, Sweeping, Drilling, Chopping Wood and all Power Tool work. A most substantial protective goggle with a huge variety of applications. They are not designed for underwater sport. They have the feel of quality about them, both in the hand and when being worn. Huge protective capability also against molten metal splash, liquid droplets, dust, or practically anywhere where there is risk to eye safety. They conform to EN166 1B 3.4.9. and ANSI Z87. Very tough. Saw this exact goggle being tested by the BSI on Friday morning on Breakfast TV. I'm a sheet metal worker and I'd have no problems recommending these to my colleagues.
Seems most of the comments were made on same day (29 Sept 2011). I haven't bought it yet, but the suspicious looking comments are preventing me from investing in this.
For me, just the right goggles at a very good price. Brilliant clarity of viewing through a mist free lens. Good solid build quality, should last me for ages. Superb.
