Received new FH100 last week. Technically lives up to all the hype. The high speed video is brilliant and the continuous shooting 'CS' mode (Eg 30 frames in one second of effectively single shoot quality) has worked really well so far - our new Springer Spaniel puppy now appears without speed-blur in pictures of her awake! You do have to wait a few seconds for the burst of files to save to card - perhaps the use of a faster memory card would help here? - but I got used to this quickly. Anyway the camera does what it claims for high speed work. Controls are easy to use, although the zoom function feels a little fragile, I guess time will tell. Picture quality seems good (although that is an amateur opinion) and the optical zoom works great.
When using the video or 'CS' mode the battery life seems very short. Fortunately I purchased a spare battery and strongly recommend others do same.
Memory use is high, and you would expect it to be with the high-speed & CS features, and I'm glad I bought a 16Gb card.
No desk cradle was surprizing. The battery charger is a standalone device with a very short power lead. Given the short battery life a cradle would have been logical to minimize battery swapping?
Conclusion, if you want the high speed functions then this camera delivers. I think Casio have been penny pinching in not supplying a desk cradle and, frankly, and second battery would not have gone amiss. Overall, with extra accessories, seems a great buy.
