Sexy slim and style,

This review is from: Casio EX-S600 SR Digital Camera Silver [6.0MP , 3 x Optical] , 2.2" LCD Anti Shake DSP (Electronics)
I was looking for a digital camera that I could stick into my jeans pocket easilly and take with me everywhere to capture those spontaneous moments. The Casio Exilim Ex - S600 is certainly one of the smallest digital cameras around at 0.6 inches(second to the Sony CyberShot T7's 0.5inches) and it looks fantastic too.
The Casio is very easy to use and I managed to master most of the controls in a couple of days. Casio's Best Shot function is fantastic and offers a mutltitude of photo capturing options which is good for point and shoot users/beginner users who don't want to play around with the manual settings. Movies captured by the Casio have very good sound and picture quality. I read somewhere that zooming in could not be performed during filming but I have been able to. Although I am not sure if it is optical or digital zooming that is being performed. Picture quality is generally quite sound. The edges of pictures tend to become blurry which is diappointing but is only noticable if you view the picture in a large size. I would think in a normal 6" x 4" photo print, the blurryness would go unoticed. Also in poor lighting, some of the pictures can come out blurry like a sponge painting. I have read reviews saying that the Casio has an awful flash range. I have yet to test out the camera in a club/bar, but I have managed to take/test a couple of night shots in the garden with the flash, and the pictures have come out completely fine. The only complaint I would have with the Casio is its abilty to take night shots of buildings. There aren't many city buildings where I live but I have tried taking pictures with the Best Shot's 'night scene' mode which has a slow shutter speed. All the pictures that I have taken have come out rather blurry as it is almost impossible to keep your arms dead still! The Casio comes with a charging docking station which you can hook up to the computer via USB and also to the TV. Whilst this is useful, it can also be a pain as it means more accessories to take with you, should you wish to go travelling, but this is the consequence of having such a small and thin camera. I love the casio exilim ex-s600 and I think it is a great camera. If you're looking for a super slim, easy to use camera I would highly recommend the Casio. If however you want better quality pictures but still want a slim camera I would opt for the Canon IXUS 600 which is only 0.2 inches thicker. Pros: 1) 0.6 inches thin 2) Easy to use and quick operations 3) Best Shot modes 4) Uses SD cards which are cheaper 5) Excellent battery life Cons: 1) Night Scene shots of buildings 2) Some blurriness around the edges of pictures 3) Wait between shots for flash to charge

Excellent, unbeatable,

This is my third digital camera and by far the best - better than a Sony or a Canon any day! It's the first digital camera I've used that can take decent night time photos. Besides good night time picture quality, when you press the trigger there is almost no delay before the photo is taken (like an old fashioned film camera!). The battery life is phenomenal and the camera is very easy to use. It has a 'best shot' button which presents the user with a set of icons representing different photographic conditions - macro, portrait, action, night time etc. I have never seen this on another camera and it makes life so simple, no complicated options! If you ignore best shot and use the default you will rarely if ever be disappointed with the results - I consistently get SLR beating pictures from my Exilim. Finally, the LCD screen is very bright and clear and the camera is compact and light. What more could you ask for at this price?? The only downside I can think of is that the USB connector is very small, but this is a minor niggle and should not put off a prospective buyer - no flimsy construction on this camera!

can't be beaten on size, and definately attracts a lot of attention off friends and family because of its looks.
the battery life is phenominal, as is the case with all casios. i took my camera to NY for 4 days and didn't need to recharge the battery once despite all the expected use whilst sight-seeing. very easy to use point and shoot camera. the best-shot function has every possible lighting and activity situation covered, which is fortunate because accessing the camera settings menu and trawling through the different screens to manually setup the shot is not an easy or quick task. time between shots is very quick and the fast shutter speed and anti shake function does seem to work. when the past movie function is turned on, the camera constantly records meaning that when you press record, the 5 seconds before you press the button are saved too. this function is great if you're waiting for something to happen, because you can press "record" when it does and know that you've captured it all. photo quality is this cameras only let down, it isnt poor but it does get more blurred towards the edge of the photos. i believe however that it still outperforms other cameras in its price range that arn't half as slim. make sure you knock off the function that allows the camera to be turned on by pressing the two small buttons on the back. these are too easily knocked and because the lens telescopes out of the camera it could really damage the mechanism. i love this camera, but when i lent it to my dad, he did find the camera very small and the buttons a bit too fiddly. i've just bought him the casio z60 which has almost all of the same funtions and spec but a bigger screen and slighty wider spaced buttons because of its marginly thicker proportions.
