Synopsis
From Darren Star, creator of Sex and the City and co-creator of Melrose Place, comes this outrageous and sexy comedy drama. Four successful, driven female professionals were lucky enough to be able to forge a close friendship with each other during their business school days. Now, even in the cutthroat corporate world, their bond remains unbreakable. Lucy Liu (Ally McBeal) is Mia Mason, a star publisher at a major media company. Zoe Burden (Frances O'Connor, AI: Artificial Intelligence) oversees mergers and acquisitions for Gorham Sutter. Juliet Draper, (Human Nature's Mirando Otto) is the head of an international hotel chain and Caitlin Dowd (Bonnie Sommerville) is the marketing VP for a cosmetics company. In a move to support each other in their personal and business lives--including protection from two-faced 'frenemy' Cilla Grey--these four fabulous New York City gals start their very own 'boys club', appropriately dubbed "The Cashmere Mafia".

I brought this dvd after reading the reviews, and couldn't believe how good it was. I thought the acting was great, and really felt you could warm to the characters and the story line. I was upset to hear that the show had been cancelled, and feel this was a real shame.

With a hint of Sex and the City, a dash of Ugly Betty, throw in some L Word, Gossip Girl and Desperate Housewives and you get your new guilty pleasure. It was a given that Sex and the City would be a tough act to follow and few shows have really managed it. Cashmere Mafia does try its best, and with a little whit a heck of a lot of charm, and some darn entertaining situations it does nearly hit the mark.
If you're after some fun-filled TV to get you through the week, Cashmere is the thing for you. It's a light way to poke fun at the gap between men and women.

There really isn't much I can say as The Film Gem Digger's review sums it up perfectly!

Just snap up this DVD!!
If you're a fan of all the shows The Film Gem Digger mentioned, as well as the woefully underrated Girlfriends, and the new show Lipstick Jungle, you'll love this!!

This show is very different...yes it has a lot from Desperate Housewives, Sex and the City and Lipstick Jungle...but it's also very ORIGINAL....characters are interesting but you have to get use to them which wouldn't be such a big problem but it's only 7 episodes long. So i keep asking myself why the crappy shows still going and shows with such a potencial are cancelled? Definitely worth the money!!

I love this show. Can't believe it got cancelled. At the risk of being attacked in the street, I've gotta say it's better than Sex in the City and I like Sex in the city. It's just a bit more grown up, I think. I might have to watch Lipstick Jungle to continue getting my fix for seeing powerful women taking on the world of work and family. We all strive for it, don't we??! The Cashmere Mafia are ballsy, exciting, beautiful and sexy. Definitely worth a watch. Go on!!!!

This was quite cheap so thought I would give it a go. It is very watchable but has hints of sex and the city in it but if you are a fan of that you will enjoy this, shame only this series though...

Cashmere Mafia - Complete Series [DVD] [2008] Cashmere Mafia is addictive, fun, sexy and oh so watchable. I'm not sure what peoples' obsession is with comparing it to SATC (another show I love) other than the fact they are a bunch of high-flying friends. But let me tell you, this is a show of its own. I had to watch the entire series in one setting and am gutted there are no other series!!!
To anyone looking for some intelligent TV that is sassy and keeps you wanting more - this is the box set for you. And if you are an SATC, Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, Gossip Girl, etc, etc, etc fan, i'm pretty certain you will love it!

cashmere mafia is a very good series in the vein of sex and the city, the character's are well portrayed and developed in a relatively short time.
if you liked sex and the city, lipstick jungle, etc this is one for you !
