Brand New & Factory Sealed. Region 2 PAL (UK & Europe). IMPORTANT: This is the official Czech release. The front cover is exactly as pictured and the back cover has Czech text. The film itself has optional Czech sound & subtitles on/off. ORIGINAL ENGLISH SOUNDTRACK - GUARANTEED > > > > > Boasting more bare flesh than your average blue movie, "Cashback" is a quirky British comedy, expanded from the Oscar-nominated short film of the same name... Sean Biggerstaff (Harry Potter franchise) plays an art student called Ben who, after being dumped by his girlfriend (former EastEnder and TV's Bionic Woman, Michelle Ryan), starts suffering crippling insomnia. Deciding to use his nights for something useful, he gets a job at a local supermarket where he starts to fall for check-out girl Sharon (Emilia Fox). At the same time, and in order to survive the oppressive tedium of the work, Ben imagines he can freeze time. As a heartbroken yet hormonal young artist, this means he can use his surreal gift to undress the store's most alluring female customers and sketch their portraits. "Cashback" is a smart and enjoyable romp, helped by a cast of characters we've all met, including the supermarket's idiotic manager and a pair of sex-mad shelf-stackers...

If I'm to be honest, I actually rented Cashback because I saw some nudity on the cover, and thought I'd get a bit of titillation out of it.

But instead what I got was a beautiful film that literally made me weep because of how lovely the storyline and composition of the actual film was. I didn't get what I wanted, but got a lot more than I had hoped. Something that reminded me of how much beauty there is in this world, and how easy it is to let it all slip by unnoticed.

Don't get it for titillation...you'll be disappointed...but if you want something uplifting and beautiful, watch it!

Sean Biggerstaff is Ben Wilis, a guy who's just lost his girlfriend. He doesn't quite know what to do, and starts a long period of insomnia. He thinks the best thing to do is work in Sainsbury's at night, after all it's another 8hrs where he could be getting paid to be sleepless. When he discovers Sharon (Emilia Fox) he discovers being able to stop time, and a new lover.

I really enjoyed this film, the timeshifting was cool and the fact he kept going back into his past to give us more insight was also very good. Both Sean and Emilia were the best characters in the movie, with that Kung Fu guy being very funny too. The angst and worry from Ben was convincing too, I thought it was realistic the way things don't seem real when you're an insomniac.

It's definitely worth watching, the colours are vivid and the sets suit the storyline. The DVD also carries a making of, and some deleted scenes.

Worth renting.

ok i have reason to be biased.. i fell in love with the script of this move over 4 years ago. why aren't more movies made like this anymore? movies which make you feel good, movies which make you appreciate the world around you and the people you love?

well.. for those who dislike the nudity, thought it was perverted or plot-less.. sorry but i disagree.. anyone that doesn't go for the alien vs predator 5 movie genre will enjoy this.. so please, enjoy at your leisure

imagination, dreams, romance, fantasy - this is what movies are all about

Fantastic, gripping film!
I would think this film deals with the emotions of a great many teens in, or out of love. It even addresses those days when we were really too young to understand the facts of life... Read more

Not a bad modern (comedy? slice of life?) original film.
First that certification- this is a 15 cert film. The 18 on the DVD cover is for a two minute obligatory trailer for a 15 cert film which the distributor has added to a number of... Read more

Bloody good film
As naturists we get bored with the constant equation of nudity equals sex so this film was a revelation. Read more

lightweight romantic fantasy, I really enjoyed it
The marketing for this film (based on the original Oscar-nominated short which grew into this feature) does it a disservice -- there's much more to it than a bit of nudity. Read more

One of the Best little British Films there is.
Anyone who has seen this DVD will know that it has a lot of nudity in it, and for your normal teenager it will provide many opportunities to put something in the spank bank. Read more
