This invaluable learning and revision tool deals with core material in clinical medicine. It covers the major systems in fifteen sections, and includes 100 cases. These cases mirror those which students and house officers will meet in accident and emergency, outpatients and general practice.

Cases include radiographs, electrocardiograms and other data for interpretation. Questions and answers also ensure that the book is an invaluable learning and revision tool.

What better way to ease into clinical medicine than by using this book! '100 Cases in Clinical Medicine' can be used by medical students as an aide to self-directed learning and clinical problem-solving.

100 case descriptions present core conditions and symptoms as seen in clinical practise and readers are encouraged to think in a practical way about clinica problems. The cases mirror those which students and house officers meet in Accident and Emergency, Outpatients and General Practice.

Presented in an easy to use format, each case includes a scenario with patient data - laboratory results, images or ECGs - to reflect the clinical situation. The reader is encouraged to answer questions and explanatory answers are provided which cover clinical thinking, differential diagnoses and key points to remember.

5.0 out of 5 stars 100 Cases review by a 3rd Year Medic at GKT 1 Feb 2004
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
A great revision aid and generally helpful whilst on clinical rotations. Cases are presented with histories, clinical results and x-rays/ECGs etc where necessary. You are normally asked to suggest a differential diagnosis and a management plan. Answers are then on the following page and the basic medical science behind the conditions is explained.
All the cases are the kind of questions you will get in exams. This was recommended to me by a friend and I would recommend it to anyone!

Well, anyone at Guy's Kings & Tommies should know that the people who wrote this book also help write our exams. So it would probably be a good idea to read through the cases as they cover most of the sylabus. Have Fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent book: really good for finals 18 Jun 2007
Format:Paperback
unlike some other osce books which present information in a didactic manner, this presents the cases and then asks the reader to provide differential diagnoses and management options, making the learning process much more interactive and more amenable to use in groups.

i have purchased three similar books and this is the best of the lot.
