I recieved this today about 36 hours after ordering it from Amazon and was very pleased with the quality, finish, compactness and general value for money the CD wallet represented.

I have used it for filing a lot of Playstation and PS2 game discs with accompanying literature. The wallet is easy to fill and the cd pouches are tight enough to hold cds in well but also roomy enough to fit the sometimes thick literature accompanyments in. Even with the PS2 literature which is the size of the inserts you get with DVDs it was easy to file by having the literature overlapping the cd above.

The wallet is completely closed in by a robust zip and there appears to be no way for dust to impregnate the wallet other than by getting in between the teeth of the zip.

When purchasing this, I did consider alternatives, including CD holders that store all the CDs standing up, however in the end I decided that this offered the best space saving capability. The product is pretty much the same size as a full lever arch file when half full and probably just 1&1/2 times the thickness of a lever arch file when absolutely full.

The canvas structure of the wallet is strong and the parts which take the strain, such as the area around the handle appear to be made of a material similar to that of seatbelts. Inside the wallet, there is a locking system which locks all the individual sleeves into place. The sleeves can be removed and reorganised easily and quickly.

Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this product and at a price which is only a fraction more than the CD wallet with a lower capacity made by the same manufacturer, I recommend it highly if you have CDs, DVDs or games discs requiring a new home.

I was impressed with my Caselogic Wallets in 2005. Unfortunately, after ordering more in 2006 I found they had become flimsier: poorer both in quality and design (the earlier versions had an excellent stiffened and padded sleeve that sat in a pocket on the inside of the front cover and could be slipped out for safe travel, for example). Why do manufacturers lower design and quality, thus losing loyal customers?!

Now I get Maplins' wallets for up to 350 CDs/DVDs (about £18 each from their shops) but still find very useful those stiff/padded sleeves from the older Caselogics - would love to know where I can get more.

Later note: although I never again found these stiff/padded removable sleeves (they fold in half and are snapped together and I still use them but sparingly as I don't want to wear them out), I eventually found something almost as good (except it doesn't fold in half): the 24 Indigo Black CD DVD Carry Case Multipurpose Accessory Pocket. Surprisingly well made and amazing value at just £2 each including P&P. Measuring 15 X 23 cm and bit tight when full but manageable.

Stop press. This item is even better than before now that they've introduced a way to swap around pages. The individual leaves can now be taken out and rearranged, allowing you to add and remove new CDs.
Simply the best way to store large numbers of disks that I've ever seen. Highly recommended.

I have yet to find an ideal CD storage system, but this is better than most. It means you don't have to keep all those jewel cases. It is well-made and ideal for home storage. If you want to take your favorite CD's on your travels, you might prefer to buy a smaller version that will hold just enough CD's to keep you entertained while you are away from home. This case, when full, might be too heavy and bulky for travel convenience.
A major disadvantage is that it does not hold any of the paper so it is necessary to store the booklet and backing separately. Also, because the rings holding the wallets are sealed, you cannot rearrange the wallets as you expand your collection. This makes it difficult to organise your CD's so that they are easy to find. Everybody can find their way round that problem, but it would be handy to have rings that open like normal ring files.
I am still hoping that somebody will produce a really good storage system that caters for large CD collection at an affordable price. In the meantime, this will do.

I've bought three of these cases now and am extremely happy with the first two and would agree with most of the other comments on their use, quality etc. Unfortunately the most recent I bought a couple of months is ago is significantly poorer in construction and materials to the two earlier purchases. It looks like the manufacturer has downgraded the materials used and to a certain extent the design i.e. the older version had a removable sleave holding 16 cd's, this is fixed in the new design. The new design also seems a lot more flimsy and in fact some of the stitching around the zip is coming away after only a couple of months of not particulary heavy use. I have given this 3 stars based on the original design and for the Amazon price and service but think I'll be looking for a better quality product next time.

I spent an afternoon cutting down the booklets, etc, and was able to fit -all 264- cds -with- the extra stuff, while maintaining easy access.( I didn't like damaging the booklets, but everyone I've spoken to who -didn't- install them ,-lost- them.) It's amazing how much wasted space the jewel cases took up. Three big, bulky boxes are now transformed into one sleek package. And it's -light-, as the cds themselves weigh effectively nothing. Highly recommended.
