Encourage Underage Thinking with These Thought-Provoking 6-Packs

Two great resources for teenagers in handy, affordable 6packs—with Leader’s Guide

The Case for Christ and The Case for Faith have both won Gold Medallion Awards—but even more than that, they have won many hearts for the Kingdom of God. The same is true for the student editions created specially for teenage readers.

The Case for Christ—Student Edition is a creative, fast-paced book that follows Lee Strobel, an investigative reporter, as he unearths convincing evidence that faith in Jesus Christ of Nazareth is not based on wishful thinking or fabricated legends, but on solid historical facts. The Case for Faith—Student Edition addresses obstacles that often stand in the way of many seekers—like the problem of evil or the origin of life.

These are not watered-down versions of the original books, but entirely fresh approaches to the same subject matter—with brand new material. Strobel partnered with Jane Vogel, a writer highly regarded for her ability to communicate with students, to customize the content of his books for the postmodern mindset.

Now both books are available in 6-packs. Each 6-pack includes a Leader’s Guide for both books with a double cover—one title on the front and one on the flipped-over backside. The Leader’s Guide provides youth group leaders with plans for taking their groups through each book over the course of 5 meetings. The pack also includes a poster to promote the meetings.

3.0 out of 5 stars Weighing the evidence--Reader's Digest version 10 Jan 2007
By David Young - Published on Amazon.com
I was disappointed that the Student Edition didn't address the evidence for the reality of Christ in the same order as the original book (The Case for Christ, by Lee Strobel). I would have liked to use them together in my study group. The Student Edition does have some things in tables and charts that may make the information easier to grasp. The Student Edition was short on information about the reliability of the Bible, which is an area in which the kids I'm working with need more help.

5.0 out of 5 stars As usual Amazon delivers 21 Feb 2010

The value of the student pack is exceptional. Our youth group runs between 8-12 kids all range in age from 12-17
They are loving this study. We also got the Case For Christ small group DVD which is broken down in 6 chapters. Each one runs about 10-15 minutes. The only thing wrong is that the book and the DVD don't match up, so #2 in the DVD could be #4 in the book. Thats the only thing we have run into trouble with, but we are making work. Good study, simple chapters, very applicable in each persons level of understanding.

5.0 out of 5 stars THe Case for Christ = Case for youth apologetics 30 Jan 2010

There are several reasons to use Case for Christ, student edition
1) This is a good entry level book by which to Know the Christ we love. Know in a more intimate sense because we learn more about WHY we believe what we believe. Christianity is not a 'pie in the sky by & by' concept. When any religion makes a truth claim that the founder- is the "Way, Truth & Life", you had better be able to back that up & know why. Remember, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Unification Church & many New spiritualities claim to be the only way also, though they may be more subtle. Yet they state with false indignation "How exclusive you Christians are to say Jesus is the Only way". Actually, we servabts are not exclusive but we follow a Christ who says He is the only God of the universe. So Case for Christ, student edition is an open door for youth... & adults.[there is the original version which is much more robust!]
2) Youth need to learn critical thinking. What are straw men, red herrings & other fallacies of debate. Critical thinking is not part of the book, per se, but I am including it & the book is fertile ground for examples of fallicies in thinking about Christ and Strobel's presentation of Christ's truth claims about being deity, the historicity of the Scriptures & the centrality of the resurrection of Christ.
3) Apologetics is the defense of the faith. Religions such as Islam, Pantheistic Monism have apologists also. Christian apologetics help a person & a congregation to be encouraged to tell the Good News about Christ as they understand more about the truth to whom they have submitted their lives. Case for Christ is apologetic.(I'm sorry, did you follow this? :>)
4) Youth want to know answers about the Bible but many churches do not teach them these central truths & some youth drift away when they are not encountering the answers to 'where did we come from, why are we here & where are we going'.
5) The book reminds me of how I should daily review the why's of Christ so I can live the joys of Christ. Enjoy!

I ordered this set of books because it said it came with multiple books (I belive seven), however I only got one. When I emailed the people and told them they replied that they would look into it, however it's been two months and I have not heard a thing! I have never written a bad review but I would get claifiiation on what exactly you are getting before you purchase with this company.
