Product Description

From the makers of Anchorman and the writers of the American TV show Saturday Night Live comes Casa de mi Padre, the new hilarious comedy with Will Ferrell.

Armando Alvarez (Will Ferrell - Anchorman) has lived and worked on his father's ranch in Mexico his entire life. As the ranch encounters financial difficulties, Armando's younger brother Raul (Diego Luna – Y Tu Mamá También), shows up with his new fiancée, Sonia (Genesis Rodriguez – Man on a Ledge). It seems that Raul's success as an international businessman means the ranch's troubles are over as he pledges to settle all debts his father has incurred. But when Armando falls for Sonia, and Raul's business dealings turn out to be less than legit, all hell breaks loose as they find themselves in a war with Mexico's most feared drug lord, the mighty Onza (Gael García Bernal – Babel).

“This comedy's smothered in hot sauce - it's funny and fiery!”(Now).

“A gloriously goofy pastiche...Will Ferrell is wonderfully wacky. Grindhouse meets Telenovela in this lovingly loopy comedy” (Sunday Mirror).

"Mexican Western mayhem! Ferrell brings the gunshow!" (Nuts)

3.0 out of 5 stars Different 25 Oct 2012
Format:Blu-ray|Amazon Verified Purchase
I'm a big Will Ferrell fan but in no means do i compare this to his other films as it's completely different. Casa De Mi Padre is a spoof of telenovelas and classic Mexican westerns and is not supposed to be taken seriously. Great film but I would say avoid if you don't like subtitled films.

4.0 out of 5 stars I liked it 22 Mar 2013

Good film... very funny, but its subtle humour may go over the heads of a lot of people. Hats off to the guy for taking a risk, he's obviously confused some people who can't understand that this is a film that is meant to look cheap as a affectionate spoof of a genre... and the spansish language thing is a good idea that works.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not for everyone 21 Feb 2013
Format:DVD
Despite the negative reviews I took a chance, subtitles don't put me off and I'm a big Ferrel fan. I will openly admit you're not going to be laughing out loud for much of this film but I really enjoyed its rediculous nature. Not sure how previous reviewers didn't appreciate the production values were meant to be low and that this is a parody of bad film. Give it a go you may well enjoy it as much as me and some of the other reviewers.
