Don't get too excited by the rather good cover picture. The content seems rather dated & quirky. The author is self taught and has not discovered Swedish tools, and dismisses the adze as a specialist tool!!! (Yes, it is, it is used by bowl makers!). However there is some useful content such tables of information on different trees/wood.
I found it rather disappointing though. A missed opportunity. Better off with Jogge Sundqvist's excellent "Carving Swedish Woodenware" DVD, or his father Wille Sundqvist's seminal book, if you can get it (long out of print in English) - the handbook/bible of spoon-makers and bowl-carvers. There is an obvious gap in the market for a replacement/updated book in English.
