I have just started carving spoons...... and I'm hooked. It's a fascinating hobby.
I recently saw this book and bought it....
You can't do better.. it really is a beautiful book. Full of tips and written in an 'easy flow ' relaxed manner. The photographs and spoon patterns are excellent.
It's the perfect reference book to get you started.... and something you'll treasure for a lifetime.

This book is not by Ian Norbury, look at the large picture. I have not read the book so the rating is not accurate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for anyone, 6 Dec 2008
By Ronald D. Keown "Daniel" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Carving Spoons: Welsh Love Spoons, Celtic Knots and Contemporary Favorites (Paperback)
Very good book. I mainly bought it for the wooven spoon pattern, but it is loaded with many other great patterns. It has patterns for early carvers all the way up to advance carvers. I would highly recommend this book for anyone, especially young carvers or someone you is just getting into the craft.

5.0 out of 5 stars Carving Spoons, 22 Jan 2008
By Ceramic Dabbler "Ceramic Dabbler" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Carving Spoons: Welsh Love Spoons, Celtic Knots and Contemporary Favorites (Paperback)
I love hobbies and I'm hooked on wood carving patterns. I bought the Welsh Spoon patterns thinking what a wonder project, but I didn't have a clue on the depth to make the spoons or where to begin. Carving Spoons is a wonderful resource. It provides pictures and instructions on wood carving that I will use in making my spoons in clay. It's started my creative juices to flow and I'm ready to start. I highly recommend the book.
