A great film which i already had on video, but wanted on dvd, we saw it when it arrived on friday.

This is my favourite of the eary black and white Carry On films. It is Sid James 1st Carry On. The rest of the cast include Leslie Phillips, Kenneth Williams, Kenneth Conner etc. The film is 83 mins long but is a laugh a minute. This DVD is a great print and is in widescreen. I did not know that this has a wonderful extra in the commentary of Leslie Phillips. So all in all a great value DVD

Despite Sid James this is still a good film.
The black and white carry ons are in a different class to the second rate stuff that followed (with one or two exceptions ie Convenience, England) .

Carry on...and on...and on
The fourth Carry on film is absolute class. The jokes are not quite as double entendre as the latter films but are from an age of innocence no longer seen.

the old ones are the best
this dvd was one of the better carry ons from the series. the cast all played the characters very well . the bundgling cops clueless and still very funny. the dvd was well priced . Read more

Not as arresting as it could have been
This is a solid CO film that is imbued with innocent post-war charm, and the already settled characterizations by the leads (whimsical Williams, coy Connor and libidinous Leslie). Read more
