They bring it yet again,

This review is from: Carried Away (Audio CD)
Anybody that is a fan of puts would know that you could guarantee this would be a 5 star effort without even listening to it first. They have an amazing ability to consistantly produce fantastic albums, and from my experience, they are the only modern hip-hop group that are able to do this, save for maybe the roots. I would say this is a pretty mellow cd, slightly slower pace than fun dmc, however the upbeat 'trippin' at the disco' is fantastic, and even after one listen can say this is already one of my favourite songs by the puts, and the video for this is hilarious. do yourself a favour and pick this cd up and show some support for two guys that remind me why I still love hip-hop. cheers guys....

musical dope,

this album came out of nowhere! its been on constant rotation, all i can say is, i appreciate the effort by tha p. and i will always show support live or taped, whatever. if u buy this album u must go to a live show--theyre some of the best in the industry hands down--check the reviews, bonnano, coachella, a3c, whatever. anyway, solid album, and even though im uber biased, id have to say i doesnt top OST (dont think anything ever will), but to borrow from the previous review, yes, its more of a continuation of FUN DMC, and i think that was their intention when they put this together. they were definitely riding a vibe, a good vibe from a great couple years for them. fave trax, check the vibe, listen, creepshow, beer, 80 blocks from sliverlake, step off, trippin at the disco is definitely not your avg P track, and its fun to hear them step out of their boundaries and do a fun track.

The P keeps Pumpin',

Being a long time PUTS fan, I was thinking to myself when this album came out, can this be as good as "Stepfather" or "O.S.T."? It certainly is. This album seems to be a excellent continuation of Fun DMC. More party anthems, more fresh funky beats, more tight rhymes about the beer you drink to getting your teeth fixed. Yeah, that's right -- getting your teeth fixed. For all the B-Boys and B-Girls, pick this up. You will have plenty of beats to get down to.

PUTS - Bring it again and again,

7th Album - PUTS What can I say. I've been a fan since I first heard them 5 years ago. Over their entire catalog, the P does not disappoint. About a year after FUN DMC, Thes One surprised all of us on their official web board at [...] by telling us that they were dropping another album. In my opinion, this album is as good as anything else they've put out there.
If you like hip hop, and I mean hip hop like on Backspin on Sirius, then go get this album now! |
