I initially bought this book to understand techniques for building timber frame buildings, including walls, and also in the hope that the dimensions used were UK based - brilliant on both counts.
All the topics covered are easy to understand and well illustrated, and covers (so far) every 1st & 2nd fix carpentry problem I've encountered.
I am not particularly experienced in carpentry, so I cannot say whether this book would be useful to a carpenter by trade, but as someone learning, this book seems to cover most of the bases to get you going.
