This book is really a should read. The designs are out of style at the moment, but she gives wonderful insight into the bare bones of design and especially how to deal with clients and client conflicts and offering problem solving solutions.

4.0 out of 5 stars a good buy for first time decorators 27 Jun 2003
As a student of interior design i did have some background knowledge but even then i thought that the book was very useful. I feel it sums up most of the important things you need to know before you venture on to decorate your house. It helps you to assess what you have and what you want in a room and then links it up to the key requirements to finish off a scheme from a decorative angle. It gives you just enough basic information to get you going and give you that extra confidence.
