Synopsis

Carolina Moon, starring Claire Forlani (TV’s CSI:NY), Oliver Hudson (TV’s Rules of Engagement), and Emmy and Golden Globe® nominee Jacqueline Bissett (The Deep, Rich and Famous), debuted on Lifetime Television. Tory (Forlani), who has a gift for psychic visions, returns to her hometown to make peace with her troubled past and put to rest the ghost of Hope, her brutally murdered childhood friend. She soon discovers that Hope's death was only the first in a string of murders that have continued every year since that terrible day and the sociopath has been waiting patiently for Tory's return. She now has two choices: use her supernatural powers to catch the killer or end up his next victim under a Carolina Moon.


Synopsis

Stephen Tolkin directs Oliver Hudson, Josie Davis, and Claire Forlani in this drama based on the book by Nora Roberts. It is the tale of a woman who returns to her hometown after receiving frightening psychic visions. What she finds there will both enchant and endanger her.

I watched this after reading the book which i couldn't put down. While the film is reasonable it fails to convey the inter linking relationships between all the main characters are deliver the same emotion that i felt whilst reading the book. You could argue that this was because I knew what was to happen but I just think it is extremely hard to bring books to life and keep the same level of emotion and/or drama. That being said I did enjoy the film and if you are watching this because you love Nora Roberts I have no doubt you will enjoy it but be prepared - films rarely match the book.

The actors are also well cast, Oliver Hudson is Cade Lavelle and Claire Forlani is a very convincing Tory. The only thing that grates on me is the extreme Southern accent by some cast members, Jaqueline Bissett in particular was cringworthy.

i love this book so i was really excited about it coming out on dvd. i was so disappointed! the character and the story-line was so watered down! Tory wasn't half as strong in the film as she was in the book.

Like the reviewer before me I also was excited that books by the great author Nora Roberts were being made into movies. But why didn't they get better actors for these great stories? A missed chance. Pity.
