An illustrated card--the free 28 Day Detox Diet Guide--provides a thumbnail guide to the diet's principles. Basically, to flush out impurities and bloating, it suggests eating lots of fruit, veggies and such. No dairy, any meat-- not even fish!--or sugar. No tea or coffee. Although the video lacks intense or scientific detail, Carol's approach is fresh, easy-to-understand and a joy to watch. Following three very different detox guinea pigs--a single mum, a single career girl and a married woman--via their video diaries, we are shown the real difficulties behind following the detox plan. This is the video for anyone who wants to lose weight and gain more energy, and is willing to make drastic, if eventually delicious and healthy changes to his or her lifestyle for 28 days. --Karen Krizanovich

It takes an awful lot of will power to stick to but worth it,

I thought the video overall was good, however it lacked any in depth information about the scientific process of the diet and I found Ko Chohan didn't explain things well enough. I am up to day 9 and haven't found it to difficult to stick to! I had one lapse where I went to a party and had 2 glasses of wine which I won't be repeating as I had such a horrendous hangover the next day! I've noticed that my skin is definitely clearer and people have commented that I look well, I am also sleeping like a log - roughly 9 hours every night of uninterrupted sleep - bliss! I am enjoying eating healthily and coming up with new recipe ideas - i've now got to the stage where I don't want to put anything "Bad" into my body - I hope that continues! I would recommend buying this video definitely!

It worked for me,

From reading the other comments on the site, I can see that a few men (like myself) have been dragged on to the diet by their partners - probably unwillingly. I was sceptical to start with and didn't even watch the video, leaving my wife to tell me what I could and couldn't eat - it all seemed like too much fuss.Anyway, what this is drawing to is the fact that I'm within 2 days of the finishing line and, as at four days ago, I've lost just over a stone. This is a lot of weight to lose!! My wife hasn't had such a dramatic reduction, but she's still lost about 7 pounds (ignore what Carol says about not weighing yourself - when determination is flagging, finding out you're half a stone lighter is a great boost!!). The cooking seems a pain at the beginning of the diet, but after a fortnight we'd really got into finding recipes and trying new stuff. It's a great time to invite all your veggie friends around for a dinner party, too. I know from the comments on the board that it won;t work for everyone as it has for me, but I'd say it's definitely worth a go. I've had a beer gut for the last five years and to see my toes again was a wonderful feeling!!

Lost 7lbs!!,

I did not find this diet too difficult but I have to say I was glad when the 28 days were up but delighted I had lost half a stone. Normally I suffer mad, bad food cravings before my period. I was due in week 3 and sailed through with no PMT whatsoever - which made me feel blessed! I also slept much better and people told me I looked more alert and focused which I did feel. The diet has also indicated to me that I have a wheat intolerance. If I eat bread or any wheat based product now I feel dreadful. I finished the detox about 2 months ago and go back on it every other week or sometimes just for a couple of days when I feel I've eaten badly and I always feel better. I have to say though that I did find it very expensive although the girls on the video say they didn't. I agree with the other comments here: although the video served its general purpose it lacked depth and left me with a lot of unanswered questions. I also did not feel comfortable with Carol Vorderman offering nutritional advice to the women taking part - sip wine from an egg cup - as if!!
