I was recommended to do this as a detox, not a diet. I did it about 6 months ago after a friend lent me the video and can honestly say I have never felt so good. Diets never work for me, but if you follow the detox properly, you wont even want anything bad for you. I was amazed to find by day 4 I did not want any of my usual favourite take away and other junk food.
I recommend this to everyone.

The video version of this DVD comes with an illustrated card--the free 28 Day Detox Diet Guide--which provides a thumbnail guide to the diet's principles. I was disappointed this didn't come with the DVD, but instead had an advert for her new revised book of the same title. The cover of the DVD is also the old cover not the pink one, and the music is pretty dated.

Incidentals aside, the plan itself seems good. Besides the diet information, it portrays three different women who go through the detox process, and the great results they have. You can see the transformations each day, which is great for motivation. In between the women's diaries, a menu for the day flashes by, but it goes by pretty fast, and it doesn't go into detail about recipes, just suggestions. There are about 4-7 days worth of meals. It also includes information on supplements, which I've found out are a bit expensive. This diet seems to be the polar opposite of the Atkins diet. It allows you to eat all you want of fruit and veg, with no-no's being booze, caffeine, sugar, dairy, meat, and wheat. It sounds tough, but ultimately good for your body. I'm about to embark on this diet, so no results as yet. I will write another review in a month.

I don't recommend buying this without the books as well. If you go for the DVD or the book, get the book, unless you want to write everything down. But Carol has a new book of detox recipes as well, so this in combination with the recipe book would be good, as the women's diaries are so inspiring.

I bought this book as a second go at detox, the 1st time i tried it detoxit was awful, headaches etc. this one I found to my suprise I enjoyed thefood. lost a few pounds the 1st two weeks i tried it so not all bad. Ionly did it for two weeks, i am about to embark on my second go nowhopefully for the full month. I must say to my suprise I did enjoy thefood and found I had gained a good appetite and my energy levels didincrease as well as getting a good nights sleep. try it you have nothingto loose.
