This an absolute gem of an album. There are a myriad of moments when the different instruments all swoop together to throw your senses up in the air. There is a wonderful diversity of moods. and some of the most bizarre liner notes to cap it all off. This a great cd to give you a life enhancing sense of elation.. I wouldn't mind but I think it is only semi seriously meant half the time. I've had it on my shelves for a long time and it's been a joy to get it back out and give myself a blast from it.. It's only when I've checked on Amazon for some of Frank's other stuff that I've realised that no-one has commented on it .. so here goes

Featuring seven songs in Yiddish, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Ashkenazic Hebrew as well as five instrumental pieces, English text information, and a re-invention of "carnivalesque" music theme, Carnival Conspiracy is an album filled with modern Brass Band spirit as surely as ancient rhythms and traditions. Frank London celebrates this anniversary with the release of his zany album filled with Brazilian carnival traditions and the street sounds of brass bands and Klezmer. Shockingly celebratory the album boasts some of the best brass musicianship that I've ever heard. On the album you'll hear Yiddish that turns into Spanish, traditional Klezmer that morphs into something out of Eastern Europe or Mexican bar. It's weird, off-kilter, and completely unique-precisely the recipe for my undying love.
