Carnages was actually an unexpected delight of a film. Quite a magical little tale of how a bull that was killed after a brutal bullfight affects so many lives and ties them all together.
As the body parts of the bull are split across 3 countries, people whose lives were never obviously connected now become inextricably linked, bringing out all manner of brilliant characterization and some eccentric personalities. I just love the little girl, Winnie, and her dog, Fred; and Chiara Mastroianni, Catherine Devenue's daughter, is wonderfully quirky in this.
A charming little story, visually beautiful, its scenes are almost rhythmic. I shall look out for more of Delphine Gleize's work.
