Product Description

What the Carmine Meo story is about
Carmine Meo and Carmine Meo Part 2 would be the first two acts of an opera that Jean-Patrick CAPDEVIELLE intends to supplement in the year to come and to take up on the stage: it is both romantic and gothic. It is about a kingdom at the time when its vampire princess goes up to the stake with her lover, the thief of the remote seas... At that precise moment, the kingdom volcano island explodes and everybody is submerged and flooded. The whole population of the kingdom become prisoners of the Goddess of the Cold, Queen of the Abyss (a very insane Lady ! ), who, of course, falls in love with the thief of the remote seas. Jealous, she will transform the Princess first into a Siren, then in marine Monster... But the Princess was pregnant and her child will change the course of the destiny...

Emma Shapplin is one hell of a singer, and this is a great album. I heard it one day in a dept store advertising a high end hifi system and was hooked instantly. I bought it the next day. The highlight is 'Spente le Stelle', lush choruses that come in waves and undulate around each other, rising up and down, fantastic power of sound. I play this in my car all the time and it creates a majestic atmosphere particularly if the surrounding landscape is anywhere near as lush as the music.

There is no note this girl cannot reach and she can sing the entire range equally well, not a bother to her. More importantly she has the lung power of a classically trained singer who knows how to project her voice properly, there's nothing more irritating to me than a singer with no volume.
The brilliance is always maintained in her singing throughout the album, although some songs are a little weak, not bearing any catchy melodies. There are however enough good songs that merit purchasing it, but it does not have enough great songs for 5 stars. Maybe next time around.

Get a glass of wine and light some candles in the bathroom and just soak up the voice of this amazing woman. Heard first as background music in a cafe bar in Madrid we just had to ask who it was. Seemingly unavailable even in the shops in Spain Amazon came to the rescue. I want to lend it to people so that they can experience it too but will have to buy more copies as I doubt that I'd get it back.

A magnificent CD. Emma Shapplin's voice is beautiful - like butter melting on warm bread. There is something magical about the music and although I have only just bought the CD, I play it over and again.

Something VERY exciting, that's what! Charlotte Church, Filippa Giordano and now Emma Shapplin appear to be pioneers in changing our perception of classical music... much in the same way it may be argued that Shania Twain did with Country music.
This is an album of outstanding beauty, with Ms Shapplin demonstrating a vocal talent of extreme clarity that has the power to demand you listen with undivided attention, whilst invoking a sense of serenity simultaneously. Mixing elements of classical vocals with detectable hints of Eastern European folk and Gregorian chants, this is an album that could well become a landmark in its field.
Buy this CD and you will NOT be disappointed!

I was given a cassette a couple of weeks ago, I had no idea who the artist was (I do now!!) the most beautiful voice I have ever heard, this cassette has not stopped playing since I got it. If you like beauty, if you like peace, if you like a voice...a real voice, then this Emma Shapplin CD is a MUST for ANY CD collection.
