From the Author
Revised and updated with eyewitness accounts. This is a considerably revised and updated version of the book I orginally published with Andre Deutsch in 1976 and Holt, Rinehart and Winston in New York. I was particularly pleased that I had the chance to improve and, in some parts, correct my account of the shooting of the DST agents in Paris and Carlos' raid on the OPEC headquarters in Vienna. The OPEC raid, in which he led a mixed bunch of Palestinian and German terrorists, one of them a young woman, was undoubtedly the high point of the Venzuealan's blood soaked career.
