First Thoughts fantastic, However, 18 Aug 2010
This review is from: Carl Lewis AWD15 Foldable Air Walker Strider/Cross Trainer - CATALOGUE RETURN (Misc.)
Well had this product over six weeks now, company who provided the item, can not fault the service, product first impressions, really good build quality, factory refurb plastered all over the box, great better than a customer return. So the verdict.
With a slight change to my diet and doing about a 1 mile a day on this, I have lost a 1 stone in 6 weeks, Now thats the good bit. Its started to fall to bits, now, I dont hammer it, and yes it squeaks a bit, but there does seem to be a bit of design problem in my eyes. the chrome poles slide up and down on handles connected to the feet, and this is incased by plastic collar's, this is where the problem lies the collars especially with the ones up from the foot pedals are basically held in place by two small screw's, I have spent endless times re-screwing these in, as they are only screwed into the plastic which will in time just create a bigger hole and will stop the function of the machine, plus another plastic collar has seared at the top end of the unit.
Overall I was intially very pleased with the product, but I dont hold out much hope on how much longer mine will last, As of yet I have not contacted the company reference warranty, as the 12 month bit is crossed out. Being a return I expect it might only be a month.
Slight update, emailed the company, though strange response for my request to return under warranty/exchange, they are sending out spare parts based on my discription of the faults. So I will see what I get once they arrive, quick response via email though less than 24 hours, no complaints there.

carl lewis walker, 27 July 2010
This review is from: Carl Lewis AWD15 Foldable Air Walker Strider/Cross Trainer - CATALOGUE RETURN (Misc.)
I purchased the Carl Lewis walker after a hip replacement operation. It is an excellent way to gently get back into exercising. I use it every day to stay supple and I like the fact that I can safely use it in my own home without the need for walking sticks. The Carl Lewis walker is very easy and enjoyable to use.

Solid piece of equipment, 9 July 2010
This review is from: Carl Lewis AWD15 Foldable Air Walker Strider/Cross Trainer - CATALOGUE RETURN (Misc.)
This is a solid - and be warned - a very heavy piece of equipment. I had a great work-out manhandling it on my own upstairs to my spare room.
It was very well packaged and fairly easy to assemble. I did struggle for a while to get it to unfold and after a lot of pulling, pushing and head-scratching - I discovered two transit pins. This is not very easy to spot from the instructions and by the time I found them they were rather bent from my attempts to force the feet apart!
Although this is advertised as being reconditioned there is little evidence of this, although the counter does not work - the numbers are gobbeldygook and jump about randomly. It looks like a cheap afterthought but I bought this to have a good workout and personally I am not too concerned about calories burned etc although for some people this may be important.
Overall I would say it is very good value for money and when using it, is glides smoothly and feels like a proper piece of gym equipment.
