Gary Brown is a journalist and the author of numerous articles about boats and the sea. After leaving school, he traveled extensively, picking up work along the way. His family connections go back to the last great days of sail. Life as a fisherman, boat builder and sea gypsy led him to the quill and a career in broadcast journalism. He lives on the Caribbean island of St. Martin with his wife Jan.
