Alexi is a Vampire trying to live a human existence, he even has a human wife. The Vampire secret is paramount and cohabiting with humans - unless you intend on turning them, just isn't done. Can Alexi protect his beloved Cassandra from the would-be enforcers of this law or will he lose her forever?

About the Author

I'm a life-long fan of paranormal romance and The Man of my Dreams is the first novel in a series. The sequel (Be Careful What You Wish For) is nearly complete and nearing the editing stage. My inspiration for this series lies close to my heart, for I have my own dark haired man of my dreams, Barry. I am also a big fan of the short lived TV show Moonlight and its lead, Alex O'loughlin. Watching this show gave me the push I needed to start writing again. I am a stay at home mum of 4 children and write whenever I get the chance. Writing is and always has been my passion. My books are for you - my fans, who share my love of romance and everything paranormal. I hope you will continue on this journey with me.

More About the Author

A survivor of sexual abuse, I have recently written the true account of my childhood, titled: Life After Hell: Surviving Sexual Abuse. I have tried to convey what happened to me as well as my journey to finally getting justice.

A lot of my real life experiences have gone into my fictional works, especially The Man of My Dreams where I created a vigilante vampire who kills rapists and child molesters.....

I've loved Vampires and the paranormal ever since I can remember and always envisaged myself writing a book or two on the subject! I have written 3 books in The Dream Series so far: The Man of my Dreams, Be Careful What You Wish For and The Chosen One. I am currently writing the 4th book in the series: Succubus: An Erotic Companion. All Paranormal Romance novels with Vampires(of course) as well as a bit of blood and gore thrown in and the 4th one is slightly on the erotic side!

I also recently published a short story (Why Won't Someone Help Me?) about my health issues and the trouble with getting diagnosed or treated for invisible illnesses.

I was given and e-copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is book 2 in the The Dream Series.

I have to say that I loved this book. To me, it was way better than the first book in the series and I enjoyed it. In this installment, you find out how it all began. You find out how Alexi was turned in the first place, and whom started all this with the vampire curse. At the end of the first book, you were left with the feel of a happy ending or a "everything is gonna work out just fine" feeling. Well, get that out your head. There are all kinds of thing brewing in this installment. Lots of the things from the past are reviled. Some is reviled to those that should not know, knowing will put you in the line of danger and possibly dead. Alexi is put in the middle of choosing who to save, and his decision may have been made too late. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. The ending of this one will leave you dying with suspense.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT!!! 13 Sep 2012

I was given this book by the author in return for an honest review.
I wasn't sure how this was going to follow on from the first book, but the author follows on from the first to the second book as if there is no break. This is a compelling story from start to finish and certainly had a few twists and turns that I honestly would never have thought of. I really can't wait to read the third book and see how Cassandra and Alexi cope with the fact that she has been fed blood by her half vampire 1yr old son. Excellent read for all vampire fans

The Review
This is the second in the Dream Series, I loved that Alexi was her dream man, I really enjoyed this one, the fact that Alexi was getting rid of all the rapists and child molesters in the city was a good thing, I am so glad that Cassie got her dream wish to stay with her dream man and little AJ too, It was nice that Alexi could then walk around with humans as himself, not as the monster that takes him over with the bloodlust that he has, I am loving this series so far, Sebastian makes an appearance again in this book, he is a nasty piece of work, but really only created because of Elizabeth, he thinks he is protecting the vampire nation, I adored that Alexi finally could spend time with his mum, after just watching and protecting her for the last 20 years, I cried, I will admit it, the ending had me crying, you had better get some tissues at the ready when you get to the end, Can't wait for book 3 I am off to read it now, 5/5

3.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 Stars 8 April 2012

Cassie and Alexi have managed to bring a little normalcy to their sons life. Alexi is pretending to be a human with a sun allergy making it possible for him to permanently work the night shift at the local hospital, while Cassie is Mum to AJ. The rules have been broken since Cassie knows Alexi is a vampire but he has failed to kill or change her, this makes certain people not very happy and puts all of them in danger.

I had been a little reluctant to read and review this book because I had received some negative feed back over my review of the first in the series `Man of my Dreams' and worried that if this title had the same editing issues I was going to be in for more stick! Luckily GQ had realised her work could be significantly improved with the help of an editor and has decided to go down that route, so hopefully my comments this time around will be considered less harsh!

This book started at the beginning and gave us all the background information we needed to understand where the vampires came from and why they could only appear in dreams. I was glad of this explanation because I had found it a little difficult to get my head around in the last book and can't help but wonder if it would have been better to include this as a prologue in `Man of my dreams' instead (or as well) just to help the reader.

I have to say when I compare the writing between both books in the series they are completely different. In B2 the spelling and punctuation mistakes are few and far between and the whole structure of the sentences makes the writing flow much better. As far a plot is concerned there are similarities to other Vampire stories I have read so I don't find it all that unique.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Fantasical Read :D :D :D 9 Mar 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
*****MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*****
Be Careful What You Wish For is the Second instalment to Gladys Quintal's first book The Man of My Dreams. It took me a while to read this but as soon as it was on my Ereader instead of Laptop screen I breezed through it just like her first book. And just like the first book I was hooked throughout. In this book it explains how everything started. How everything was connected to one woman. Elizabeth. Who is based on Elizabeth Bathory AKA Countess Dracula. In my opinion this book is not as dark as the first but the feeling of paranoia brought on by Sebastian makes up for it. Being a mother myself, it is a mother's worst nightmare if something were to happen to their children so when Sebastian crept in through little AJ's mind I was kind of livid and panicking something would happen to him. I liked the additional vampires and how they came into it. Everything was explained so you wouldn't get lost. The love between Alexi and Cassie was still as strong as ever and it was great to see they could live together and not just in Cassie's dream. We met Alexi's mum briefly in the first book but in this one we met his whole family. His mum is a very strong character and she knew Alexi couldn't pull the wool over her eyes. When I came to the end I kept trying to flick the page but it came up blank. I had finished. :( :( I could have cried! It was getting to that epic moment but it was finished. Now I have to wait for the Third instalment which I hope is very soon because I neeeeed to see what happens next.
I give this wonderful book a 5 * just because it was well written and well thought out :)
Thank you for another great book Gladys. Eagerly awaiting the next one :D
