This album marked my introduction to Loudon Wainwright and what an introduction. I first came across the album by accident in a
bargain bucket in Our Price and was just bowled over by the album; time has not diminished that opinion. It is akin to having front row seats at a dream Loudon concert with a heady mix of beautiful and poignant songs and self-deprecating humorous numbers, all held together with some wonderful audience interaction.

Just fantastic.

First saw Loudon Wainwright III on the Whistle Terst in 1986 when he sang 'Hard Day on the Planet'. I was 17 at the time and a thrash metal fan but I was so hooked by this performer and his lyrics that I bought the tape of @More Love Songs'. From that moment I have tracked down everythin he has done and have an appreciation of his performing life although in Father Daughter Dialogue he suggests that this persona is just for his audience. This CD is a great introduction to Loudon and some standout tracks are: 'Thanksgiving', They've spelled my name wrong again and 'April Fool's Day Morn. Touchingly beautiful one moment then car crash honesty the next...a must have for anybody's collection.

Loudon Wainwright has the ability to make you laugh out loud one minute and want to cry the next. He writes songs with a unique blend of humour and pathos, and this live album is totally engaging from start to finish. Almost as good as actually being at one of his gigs, and a great starting point for listeners who are hearing him for the first time. 'The Acid Song' is a highlight as he doesn't perform it live often. Buy it now!!

Just like being a his concert.
Loudon's wit is as sharp as his lyrics in this live recording. A perfect mixture of light hearted and not so light hearted songs. If you were not a fan before, you will be now.
