i was initially very disappointed with this book - it is in effect more of a pamphlet, feeling like no more than some of the literature than you can collect for free in most government offices.
however after working with it for a while i have found its value. the key phrase is working with it, as it is indeed a workbook, giving you ideas and encouraging you to consider yourself and make notes on your own situation.. and where you are trying to go..

each section on developing yourself is supported with a long and fairly up-to-date list of suggested websites, where you can to find further information, opportunities and support. these could be invaluable and worth the 'admission price' itself.
if you are prepared to work through this book and use it to its fullest, then i can recommend this. it is a book where only you can provide the essential words and write the ending.
only time will tell whether it leads myself and you on the career change we seek..

This little book is a gem if you are facing redundancy or simply want to find a job that suits you. This comprehensive guide contains a myriad of useful tips, and is also packed with expert advice. Best of all, you will find lists of the best and most up-to-date websites in various categories.

You will find everything from coaching, courses, finance, open learning, skills training, childcare, job vacancies in every imaginable sector,including CVs, covering letters, interviews, age discrimination, psychometric testing rights and redundancy, labour market trends, self employment, voluntary work and adult gap years.

The workbook format encourages you to take steps and make plans for your future, directing you to the wealth of information on the web.

Well, there was nothing else out there that could help me get on the right path again - so I tried this. Very impressed. Looks good. Feels good. But best of all, the content is very good!
Really helped me out of a difficult situation and important time in my life, and I am now feeling great! Really helpful guidance and ideas for under a tenner? I think so. It guided me. Let it guide you.
