Product Description

Product Description

A guide for new beekeepers and for beekeepers who have acquired the increasingly popular Warré and Top Bar Hives and those who want to stop using chemicals. This book is also for anyone who would like to know more about these marvellous creatures and the art of beekeeping. Many new beekeepers lose their bees because they do not understand them. They may read books on the mystery and magic of bees, but not how to look after a hive of bees. This book gives practical guidance with clear instructions, line drawings, and photographs.

· Essential knowledge of the lifecycle of the honeybee
· Details of essential equipment
· Beekeeping activities throughout the year
· Hive management to control disease, swarming and honey production

It has advice from my 30 years beekeeping, not found in other books, on:

· colony stress in spring
· swarm collection
· winter survival
· varroa control without chemicals
· propagation of varroa-resistant colonies
· HONEY without STRESS
Contains over 34000 words, 16 colour photographs and 26 drawings.
Note: This e-book is regularly revised as with the latest research and experience, so set your device options to receive updates. Diagrams and photographs can be enlarged to full screen by using the ZOOM function on your Kindle device.

He is a member of the Somerset branch of the British Beekeeping Association and the Frome circle of Natural Beekeepers. Book of helpful information, though more of a collection of "tips" than a comprehensive discussion of beekeeping. Well worth the price an some of the information will be very helpful.
