This is a great book,filled with original recipes. You'll find appetizers & snacks,soups,salads,side dishes,main dishes, sauces & dressings, breakfast bites, and finally deserts. The ingredients can easily be found, and you have a conversion chart for gaz marks etc.All the recipes which I've tried so far were tasty, try the one on page 126.As for tip, have frozen herbs in your fridge. The book has no pictures but it is very user friendly.

This is a brilliant low-carb cookbook - delicious recipes, full of variety and imagination, and also really nicely designed. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

I have been interested in a low carb way of eating for some weeks,this is one of several books I have recently purchased I am a vegetarian & for obvious reasons going by the title of this book "Carb Conscious Vegetarian" I had to have it!
What a disappointment it has turned out to be. Whilst there are veggie recipes they are heavily reliant on soya products ( not my favourite foodstuff ) the author is American therefore there are ingredients and products that are unfamiliar and some unobtainable but my biggest gripe is that this is undeniably a book for vegans!
I have no problem with people who choose the vegan way of eating but it is not for me and ingredients such as "poached tempeh" "vegetable ham slices" and worse - recipe titles such as "Ragin' Cajun Tastes Like Chicken Salad" and "Soy Good "Egg" Salad" put me off completely !!! :-((
