This is one of my alltime favorite live albums. This is the majestic Bay Area Quintet at their finest. Indeed the opening song `Majestic` gives me goosebumps everytime I hear Steve Smiths Tom fill.`Where were you` has the most dodgy lyrics ever but the adenalin rush it inspires in me more than compensates.`Just the Same Way` has a coda not on the original with Steve Perrys vocals and Neal Schons guitar chiming in euphoric resonance.

The remainder follows in the same way. The closer is a bonus studio track which brings a smile to my face.

If you are hum ha ing between `The Essential Journey` and this you know what i`m gonna advise.

If you are a Journey fan you MUST have this album; it is simply AWESOME!
This is Journey probably at the height of their live show performance. This is one of those recordings you turn up loud on the headphones and you are there (well, almost). Neil Schon's playing is just brilliant!Steve Perry is amazing as ever as is the rest of Journey: Ross Valory on Bass, Steve Smith on drums and Gregg Rolie on keyboards and vocals. This album was released in 1981 just prior to the famous 'ESCAPE' album and I think the musicality of that album shows as a result of a gruelling world tour which apexed into awesome result of CAPTURED. The album mainly covers material from the 'INFINITY','EVOLUTION' and 'DEPARTURE' albums of 1978, 1978 and 1980 respectively, wonderful. The CD has the original album artwork and concert tour pictures in a fold-out sleeve. The audio quality is very good. Buy it. You will love it.

A great live album and Gregg Rolie's last hurrah with Journey. He would be replaced on keyboards by Jonathan Cain before 'Escape' was released. This album marks the beginning of Journey's rise to mega-stardom. If you count up the hits on this album, you realise just how many great songs they produced before Escape. Perry as always delivers, but the band all put in solid performances too. Majestic, Dixie Highway, Anytime, Just the Same Way and Too Late are all standout tracks, but wouldn't see the light of day on future live albums, such was the depth of Journey's output.

Not quite up there with the 'Live in Houston' set for me, but nevertheless a worthy addition to anyone's collection.
