Review

"I read the book in one sitting. I look forward to the next book in the series, because it has to be the beginning of a series. A world this enjoyable deserves more than one visit. This book has some new twists in the werewolf's tail that were very cool."--Laurell K. Hamilton on "Hunter's Moon"
"Adams and Clamp are a powerhouse team that have opened the door to an amazing new world." "Romantic Times BookClub Magazine" Top Pick", " 4 1/5 stars, on "Hunter's Moon"

"Adams and Clamp are adept at writing intensely sensuous, hot lovemaking scenes, but where they really shine is in the creation of an unforgettable world where secret shape-shifters live, love, and scheme. Laurel K. Hamilton readers will enjoy this edgy world."--"Booklist" on "Moon's Web"

Product Description

Sazi councilman Antoine Monier is an entertainer, travelling with his show cats all over the world. While he's in Stuttgart, one of his tigers is stolen - and killed. In the course of his investigation, he discovers the lovely Turkish- American woman, Tahira Kuric, in police custody - in tiger form. Tahira is a rival of the Sazi, a member of the Hayalet Kabile - the ghost tribe of shapeshifters who can become invisible at will. And, unknown to her, Tahira is also a fabled "power well", able to steal magical energy from other shapeshifters and store it inside herself. This makes her the prime target of the rogue shapeshifting snake, who needs Tahira to complete his plan to destroy the Sazi by channelling all of the magical abilities of Alpha shapeshifters. He also needs Antoine, a powerful Alpha. Tahira and Antoine team up to defeat this evil and along the way, realise they have more enemies than friends. It might just be that all they really have is each other.

Riveting! 12 May 2006
By Detra Fitch TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Antoine Monier, leader of the Sazi cats, is a strong alpha with excellent illusion abilities. He is also a seer; however, he has tried to bury that particular ability since he was five. The story begins in Germany. Antoine is escorted by local law enforcement to where several tigers were recently captured by poachers and slaughtered. It is too late to help them, but he learns of a female tiger being held. The LAST thing Antoine expects is to end up rescuing a were-tiger from a tribe believed long extinct.

Tahira Kuric is a member of the Hayalet Kabile (Ghost Tribe) in America. Her brother, Rabi, had been kidnapped and she was captured while searching for him. All their lives, Tahira and Rabi had been warned of the deceitful Sazi. But she needs his help if she is to have any chance of locating Rabi. It soon becomes apparent that a great war loomed within the near future unless they somehow avert it. The war would be species against species and if Rabi were to be killed by his captors, even the humans would become involved, and blood and fire would rain down on the world.

To make matters worse, Antoine is being challenged for his seat as leadership. This brings Ahmad al-Narmer, councilman for the were-snakes, into their residence, as witness to the challenge. Ahman and Antoine, equal in position and power, clash constantly and they both vie for Tahira's affection. And Tahira has a unique power, not seen for thousands of years, that even SHE did not know she possessed. Unless she learns to control it, Tahira will unwillingly kill any shifter that ever comes near her.

***** This is a fabulous addition to the Sazi tales! Things happen quickly and the pace moves along at a good speed. The authors have several surprises in store for you as well. You will never find yourself getting bored in the slightest. In fact, you may find yourself breathing quickly in anticipation. Authors C.T. Adams & Cathy Clamp corroborate so well, you would think they were one person. Riveting! *****

Admittedly I was a little disappointed that the authors decided to move away from Tony and Sue however I love Tahira and Antoine and the world of the werecats. This sticks much more closely to the standard framework of a romance novel rather than the innovative nature of the last two books however it is still a good read and stays true to the sazi world that they are trying to create. All in all a good book and a great bargain at under £4! Now we just have to wait for Howling Moon!

Fed up 25 Aug 2006
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I am fed up with finding great new authors that release brilliant new books and then a couple of books down the line, they're releasing stuff that's not to the standard that I'm used to from them. This is what has happened here. The first few books about the Sazi were brilliant, I loved everything about them, the action, the love part, it was just a fantastic complete package. This book was dreadful. I don't know if it was the editing but some of the conversations in this book between the characters was stilted and awkward and just didn't flow right.

The plot was interesting, but let down completely by the writing. Some parts of the book were barely readable and not up to a standard that I'm use to from these authors.

The love interest was barely there, and to be honest, what was there wasn't interesting. What kind of book was this suppose to be? If it's suppose to have a great romance in it, put it in. If it's a thriller, then sell it as a thriller. don't tell me about the love and leave it out, that just annoys me. The authors let themselves down, this wasn't a great book.
