The best erotic book I've read in EONS. As a writer and editor of erotic fiction myself, I read so much erotica that it takes a LOT to move me. And Captivation certainly did.
You know a book has done its job when it has moved you so physically and emotionally that it sits in your head for weeks afterward.
The erotic buildup is constant throughout the book. The reader quickly becomes absorbed in Katya's world, delightfully revelling in the lusty exploration of her sexuality.
I cannot begin to sing the erotic praises that this book deserves.

This was the first book i read from the Black Lace series...WOW. The story was well rounded, and you got to know the main characters well enough to understand their desires and passions. The sex scenes are varied and have you sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to read what happens next.
This is a first class story and extremely entertaining. I would recommend it to you all.

For those who enjoy a bit of eroticism with their drama, they should give this book a try. Tracing the exploits of the Leskova family, The Captivation is a microcosm of the tumoil and chaos during the 1917 Russian revolution. Separated from her family while escaping the revolutionary forces, Katya Leskova finds herself being taken captive by the enemy forces and having to conceal her privileged background. This was a time when just being sympathetic to the enemy meant instant death, but when Alexei, captain of the rebels discovers the nature of his prize, it is the start of a battle of idealism against carnal passion.
This is not a book for those of a delicate disposition. Although set during the Russian revolution, this is mainly a drama about a woman's will to survive and the means to that end. Miss Rostova does not hold back on explicitly describing the passion and lust which arise in the steamy chapters. Thoroughly recommended.

a bit boring and predictable
It took me ages to read this, the story was okay once you got into it but the sex parts I found were boring and straightforward

Ummm
Well the heroine? gets to 'have' a lot of sex. Very unlikely scenario with implausible characters and situations. I have read better erotic books than this one.
