Unfortunatly this manuel is still lacking in organization and content, although required reading for many mariners. some small errors, but problematic in diagnosis and follow-up treatment. 'Get Radio Medical Advice' is the usual outcome. Strongly suggest it to be supplemented with a Merrick Manuel (apparently soon to be on CD) or another more comprehensive, and insightful resource.

Landed on this book after reading about it on Lifehacker. It's actually available as a free PDF from the Department of Transport (just Google it). I thought it might also be available as a cheap book, but was surprised at the high price of the hardcover. You may as well download the PDF and print it out yourself.. that or preview all the info before you commit to a purchase.
