5.0 out of 5 stars Epic nostalgia 27 Nov 2008
Really enjoyable sci-fi spoof, with cardboard sets, stiff-upper lip stilted dialogue, and a plot full of spunky space amateurs and snarling baddies. All this and Tamsin Greig and Mark Heap too....

5.0 out of 5 stars Captain Eager to Please 8 Mar 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
This has to be one of the silliest films I have ever watched. It's a wonderful homage to those cheap and cheerful films made on a next to nothing budget full of hammy acting and sets that have a tendency to wobble, (and fall over). If you want ninety minutes of pure escapism this is the film for you. Even the bonus material is daft. And it's British!

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh dear 7 Sep 2011

The positive reviews had me believing this was a loving pastiche of the likes of Dan Dare...
There are films out there that attempt to recreate the look of old action series from the 30s and 40s and do it pretty well... this was just dire. I've seen cheap old series and they were better made than this.

If it was meant to be funny, I must have missed the joke... it was a huge, crushing bore!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bonkers but Brilliant! 26 Nov 2008
You watch this film and think WHAT is going on? Then you think NOOOO! Then you see the light and say YES YES YES! It's bonkers but brilliant! Tamsin Greig is hysterical as an awkward heroine! Scamp the Rocket Dog we love you!
