Great band and terrific musicianship - without a doubt the main reference point is the mighty Sabbath, but Orchid use them as a launching point for their journey into an entrancing realm of psyched-up doomrock full of flavour and 70s riffalicious goodness. Not a duff track on it. Highly recommended.

Orchid for my humble and eternally grateful state of mind, deserve all the accolades they receive. This band excel at carrying (and to a certain degree owning) the Sabbath sound. Both "Through The Devils Doorway" EP and "Capricorn" LP prosper in the vain of 70's rock magic. Lush, heavy and hedonistic grooves fill the album with considerable authority, Theo Mindell's vocals hark back to the first Sabbath album which ebbs and flows with rifftastic goodness. "Master of it all" really takes genre to pinnacle of mastery, this track coupled with the title track "Capricorn" keep you hooked all the way through. Do yourself the biggest of favours buy this album it is top draw -if you like bands such as: Spirit Caravan,Down,C.O.C,Trouble and of course the mighty Sabbath then it is a no brainier you MUST own this bands whole catalogue \m/

Full of Sabbath influences with some tracks sounding like near clones of early Sabbath (Sleeping Village, Black Sabbath, Electric Funeral etc.) This is not a criticism, I love it and so will fans of Sabbath's first four albums. Put Chris Linderson formerly of Count Raven on vocals and it would be the reincarnation of early Black Sabbath. Excellent CD.

This album is a real classic debut and has shades of Sabbath all over it, straight from the seventies. If this is the future of metal then I want in and I want to be at the front. Please buy this album as it will keep the music alive.
