Product Description

Product Description

This book tells the story of a successful, ground-breaking, range of sporting Ford cars. From 1969, when the 'Car You Always Promised Yourself' was introduced, and for nearly twenty years after that, the Capri range set new engineering, styling and marketing standards. In that period, nearly two million Capris were sold, and Ford's rivals struggled to match it.

Graham has now written more important automotive titles than any other motoring historian; several of them published by The Crowood Press. Resident - Dorset

Capri;The Sexy European 24 Dec 2008
By Rand Thompson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
This a a good book concerning the history of the European Ford or Mercury Capri. Covers the Capri from its introduction in 1969 to the Capri II and Capri III hatchbacks produced until 1986.

Graham Robson is considered to be a renowned British auto writer and does a nice job like always on this one. This volume is much more concentrated with the British variations than their German counterparts but also has info on the US models as well.

It is not nearly in depth as the Jeremy Walton book published in the 80's, but it is worth having if you are a Capri enthusiast. There are many nice color photos; some of which I have not seen before.
