5 of 5 people found the following review helpful By Maureen Stockwell on 4 Jun 2013
Format: Paperback
The book does what I expected giving detailed infomation on the sections of the walk and instructions on linking in with trains and the underground. Instructions so far have been easy to follow but the book loses one star because some of the maps are missing information described in the text. The text will allocate a number or letter to reference the point but that reference is not always shown.

I have only done a few legs of this walk so far but the book is great. Gives you directions that are really clear and conveniently located near public transport. Its a great way to discover parts of London you would never know exist. All Londoners should buy this and do the walk. My favourite leg so far...the one through Richmond Park

A well written and clear guide. Much detail about navigating the route given its somewhat tortuous nature in places. This has limited the amount of historical and scoilogical information that it can carry. One thing that would improve the book having done the walk over 5 days recently, would be the inclusion of a rail/overground/underground map and if possible another for relevant bus routes. The signposting is not as good as the book suggests but that just makes the book even more valuable

A useful guide to the Capital Ring - but having read it I decided not to walk it. London suburbs can be so boring. I do long walks and I wanted to do the whole thing in one: these walks are probably better designed for small sections in a day. So it was ultimately a very useful guide.

Brilliant book brilliant walking!
This must have been a labour of love. It takes you on a round trip when you have a moment in all weathers and all seasons. You pick it up from London Transport and go back on London Transport. Very easy.
