If someone asked me to compile my own list of favourite classics - this CD would be it. Brilliant! Faboulous sounds. Fabulous tracks. From Space Oddity to Saturday Night at the Movies, what more could there be?

5.0 out of 5 stars Such a Timeless Album 18 July 2001
Format:Audio CD
Thus compilation just brings all those classics back. The best mixture of the 60's, 70's and 80's. Some great cheesy songs which are great to sit down and listen to. Its one of those albums where u may not recognise some of the tracks but then you hear them and it all comes flooding back and somehow u find urself singing along to them!Buy the album-u know you wanna!

You almost always endup buying a collection for those 4 or 5 songs that you had liked and feel that the collection is good value for money even if the other tracks dont turn out too impressive. and then comes along a collection like this where you will discover some rare gems embedded between the songs that you originally bought the collection for... and before you know it you would be clocking these numbers more often than anything else on the collection...
This one is one of them ... and the one song that really surprised me for one is Otis Reddding's Sitting on the dock of the bay, the vagabond whistle on the track will send you practising all day. A few numbers that you would remember well from soundtracks or cover versions, Build me up Buttercup from Something about Mary, I say a little prayer...
The one song that really would make you buy this collection in the first place though is "Nights in white satin" ... it is the most haunting number ever ... and inexplicably so if you have read "The Sicilian" listening to the song always reminds me of that book.
Evergreen classics make their due appearance - "Want to break free","It must have been love", "American pie" (the original), some ordinary numbers bring up the rear, but are forgettable tolerably so...
