This offering after previous darker efforts is a wonderful mix of the surreal and melodramatic. Quality musicianship, intricate melodies and Capossela's moody yet impish vocals (which have a hint of Tom Waits) make up a burlesque collection that has kept my interest for longer than most CD's. Capossela's array of fiddles, squeezeboxes and organs is belied by clever producing which makes the LP intensely listenable. There are at most two tracks that I skip, the rest being great. Oh, and the lyrics are helpfully included so you can set about working out what it all means.
