A young English metal band let rip with a monster. They are hard to define, almost glam at time and then suddenly really quite heavy. The vocalist can change his voice really quickly. it's a solid album, not as good as seeing them live coz they really go for it live. Buy the album and see them play live.

I have seen these guys live and they were brilliant so i had to buy the album and i'm not dissappointed, I watch a lot of new acts and this band is the best i've seen emerge in the last 5 years so make sure you get yourself a copy or get to one of their gigs!!

Power metal + Glam metal + Death Metal + AOR = "The Morning After"

"The Morning After" is a melodic metal band from England UK. Their sound makes direct reference to that of American metallers "Blessed by a broken heart" in the sense that it is 80s-driven, aggressive and at parts brutal. A closer look however verifies that "The Morning After" is more concentrated on melodic guitars and vocal lines than on brutal vocals.
I guess you could call it extreme/progressive metal mainly because of its diversity; the songs on "You Can't hurt steel" are based on glamorous riffs overblown power metal melodies, AOR choruses with a few `brutal' verses here and there.
The opening track "Metropolis" displays more guitar lines than what you would expect to find throughout a 10 track album. "In the heart of the young" is a total melodic diamond, surely the softest moment on the album, an equally melancholic and hopeful tune. Finally "Glitter & Bombs" and "Atlantis" are very representative songs offering a total adrenaline mix of speed, melody, and endless lyrics.
The line up features Guitarists/Vocalists Sam Ryder and Phil Maher along with the rhythm section of brothers Jay (bass) and Reece (drums) Bude.
Although the release is of experimental nature, that does not stop it from being catchy and direct. You will probably have to play this one a good number of times in order t become accustomed to the overload of themes, riffs and melodies; having said that I believe that most metal fans will easily connect with the songs of "The morning After". If you are intrigued by a blend of Power metal, Glam rock, AOR and Death metal, you should get this debut album.
