Nowhere-man Ronny Miller is secretly in love with Cindy Mancini, the prettiest, most popular girl on campus. When Cindy finds herself in a desperate predicament, Ronny steps in to save the day for a price. Cindy must pose as Ronny's girl so that her popularity might rub off on him. But the road to popularity takes an unexpected twist when Ronny becomes so "cool" that his former friends feel the chill, Cindy is left totally out in the cold, and Ronny himself discovers that money might buy you popularity, but it can't buy you love!

I must have searched for this title to buy online over a hundred times inthe vain hope that it would finally arrive on DVD... Hurrah!!! Mypersistence has paid off with the arrival of what is a pure chick flick80's masterpiece (well, at the very least a feel good, light entertainmentmovie) which is well worth a watch. For me, it's an essential addition tomy collection.
Apart from the obvious Beatles theme tune, the movie provides asentimental trip back to every girl/boy's high school crush, and theultimate desire to be part of the coolest gang in school... or to at leastwatch them fall from grace.
Patrick Dempsey is brilliant as the charmingly nerdy Ronny, whilst AmandaPetersen plays 80's prom queen beautifully. I would highly recommend awatch on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

Takes me back to my time at High school in the US. Unfortunatley I was one of the bad Guys. A great soundtrack and lovin' those eighties clothes. A must for lovers of eighties films.

Had this on VHS since its release so just had to get it on DVD...If you like "the underdog" gets the girl kind of film then you'd love this & also if you're one of these people who cringe when somebody does something embarrassing on TV then you'll be cringing literally 90% of the film with the main characters antics.

good old classic
It's hard not to love this old classic film. I've bought it for my sister for Christmas, but I'll no douby be borrowing myself to watch it soon. It's great!!
