Incredible quality and detail in seconds

Thanks to the 1 picolitre ink droplets from Canon's class-leading FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) print engine which delivers an astonishing resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi, the PIXMA iX6650 produces vivid, detailed photos and the crispest text. It can print a 10 x 15cm (4 x 6") borderless photograph in 36 seconds, and an A3+ borderless photograph in 120 seconds, giving you superior photo-lab quality output at incredible speed.

The PIXMA iX6550’s document print speeds are also impressive - 11.3 IPM* in black and white or 8.8 IPM* in colour.

Efficient 5 Single Ink System

Canon's High Performance 5 Single Ink System includes two blacks - one for printing crisp laser sharp text, the other to give strong saturated blacks in photos - delivering exceptional quality. The Single Ink System also means that when one colour runs out you only replace that ink tank instead of replacing an entire multi-coloured cartridge and wasting the other unused ink.

Stylish, compact and tidy

The sleek and stylish PIXMA iX6550 is incredibly compact for an A3+ printer. It is only 12cm wider than the equivalent A4 model, so it requires noticeably less desk space than you would expect of an A3+ model. Additionally, both the power cable and USB port are recessed inside the printer so you can push the machine right back against the wall, saving space and keeping everything neat and tidy.

You can keep your precious photos bright and vibrant with the Canon ChromaLife100+ system. This unique combination of enhanced FINE print head technology and genuine Canon Chromalife 100+ inks with selected Canon photo papers lets you create beautiful photos that will last up to 300 years when stored in an archival-quality photo album.

To achieve the 9600 x 2400 dpi colour resolution, Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) uses a patented print head with high precision nozzles, ejecting ink droplets as small as 1 picolitre in size (the smaller the ink drop the better quality the image).

*Printing speeds explained: Canon measures its printing speeds in IPM (Images Per Minute). IPM is a new ISO speed testing standard, approved by the International Standards Organisation in March 2009. PPM (Page Per Minute), used by some manufacturers, is not a standard for inkjet printers. Every printer manufacturer has their own ‘test pages’ that are used to test speed and give vastly different results. The new ISO standard sets standardised ‘test pages’ that are to be used by any manufacturer measuring their speed in IPM, allowing comparable results across inkjet brands.
