Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

PIXMA MP630
The PIXMA MP630 is an All-In-One that is destined to excite and enthuse creative users with its superb photolab quality prints, compact and contemporary design and impressively quick photo print speeds, as well as the 4800dpi scanner and advanced media handling.

A fully featured PIXMA model, the PIXMA MP630 replaces the PIXMA MP610 and in the process introduces five new Single Inks. When combined with new photo paper, the new inks and PIXMA MP630 create ChromaLife100+ photos, part of a system that improves the beauty and longevity of printed images.

Integrated, high-speed printing, scanning, and copying make our Office All-in-Ones the ideal solution for any home office. The same technology that produces premium PIXMA photo prints brings new life and razor-sharp colour to business documents and presentations.

PIXMA MP630 Highlights

1pl Technology

Picolitre size

The size of the ink droplets can vary, and it is this that you quite often see quoted in printer specifications as a Pico litre rating (pl). The Smaller the nozzle jet, the tinier the ink drop, so the more detailed the print image will be.

5 Single Inks

Ink tanks/Cartridges

To minimise ink wastage and protect the environment, Canon’s Single Ink system uses transparent, individually replaceable single colour ink tanks. Each tank incorporates an LED that flashes slowly to indicate when ink is low, or rapidly when the tank is empty. To ensure hassle-free installation, the LED also indicates when a tank is incorrectly installed.

Auto Duplex Print

Auto Duplex

Built-in Auto Duplex printing capability is compatible with photo paper as well as plain paper feeding from both Rear Tray and Cassette.

Easy-Scroll Wheel

Scroll Wheel

The Easy-Scroll Wheel is rotated to operate the printer and make selections from the menu, displayed on a high quality colour TFT screen.

Quick Start

Quick Start

No more waiting around; Quick Start gets you going in an instant. Switch on your PIXMA, and start printing or copying in as little as 4 seconds!

Auto Image Fix

Auto Image Fix

Not every photo is perfect; that’s why Canon introduces Auto Image Fix.  It automatically analyses your photo, and then enhances skin tones, colour contrasts and saturations.  Simply scan, and edit them with the easy-to-use software.  Then reprint them to share with family and friends.

Memory Card

Memory Card Compatibility

Digital photographs can be printed quickly and easily simply by inserting memory cards into the card slot. Most of the memory cards in the market are supported.

Colour Copy -- A4 approx. 19cpm

Colour Copy

A4 document colour copy speed. The advanced copy technology gives faithful colour reproduction on plain papers as well. Deliver high speed copy with beautiful photos and texts.

Scan CIS 4800x9600dpi

Scan

Scanner Optical Resolution: The CCD or CIS systems of flat-bed scanning are used in all-in-one models. Achieved maximum resolution of 4800 (horizontal) x 9600 (vertical) dpi. 4800dpi resolution delivers good colour scans. Scan straight to PC, email or PDF. MP Navigator EX software makes every stage of operation easier, from image search to PDF document editing. Scan your existing photo prints and re-print them to share the duplicates with family and friends, or scan faded photos and bring them back to life with the easy-to-use software.

ChromoLife100+

ChromaLife 100+

ChromaLife100+ is a system that improves the beauty and permanence of printed images, realised with the combination of selected Canon inks and papers. A combination of Canon’s FINE print head, New Dye-Based Inks and New Genuine Photo Paper provides more vibrant, beautiful and longer-lasting photos.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pick a Pixma! 2 Feb 2009
Never been too impressed with any printers screen to paper realism, so 6 months ago chose Kodak's EasyShare5500 all-in-one, a new venture for Kodak based on a reputation of photo excellence. For the first time, ever, I was amazed by the realism of digital photo quality prints, especially the all important skin tones. Problem was, Kodak had an issue with its cartridge carrier which caused all sorts of weird printing results, and, after four exchanges, I reluctantly gave up on it, and expected mediochre prints from then on. Luckily, a guy at PC World said "Your best bet is a Canon". I did my research and chose the Pixma MP 630. Wow! The quality is fabulous! It's style seems very understated as an 'all-in-one' but results in photo-quality and even plain paper everyday documents is impressive! The interface is intuitive and friendly, the paper tray is hidden underneath, and, like an invisible friend, it may not dominate the desk, but it delivers, everytime.Canon PIXMA MP630 All-in-one Printer (Printer/Copier/Scanner)

5.0 out of 5 stars better than gold watch 3 Jan 2009
Canon PIXMA MP630 All-in-one Printer (Printer/Copier/Scanner)

A retirement present. Dozens of packets of old photos,& my sister gave me an album of snaps from the 30's-40's-50's. The project began. Set up-v easy- and believe me I'm no engineer, although there's a disconnect between the Canon designers/engineers and the manual writers who would benefit from guidance on manual writing- in plain english- with the reader in mind.Print quality excellent- have now sent a couple of hundred prints worldwide- on the original cartridge... A little slow to scan/ digest but more than made up for by the end result.Still puzzled by what I'm supposed to do with the CD draw/slide thingy included in the pack-see comments re manual above
A little expensive- but when did you ever regret buying the top of range?- -sadly let down by the paperwork.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great printer/scanner/copier/CD printer 26 Feb 2009
By Suze TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Amazon Verified Purchase
I wanted a printer/copier scanner and branch out into printing directly onto my own CD's to save on bills at the printing company. I am self employed and need to send CD's to prospective customers.
My old printer was an Epson and had no direct to CD capability and I was sick of getting lines or bands visible on photo's so I looked at HP and Canon as alternatives.
I bought an HP photosmart 5280 because it was cheaper than this Canon MP630. But I had to return it because the CD design templates were rubbish. They did not even have room to type my email address or website address in the text box. It split the text onto two lines which is useless if you are printing CDs to promote your website. And there was no freedom to put text or pictures where you wanted to on the CD. There is a free label printing software thingy included with the HP but that is only for labels, NOT for printing direct to a CD. If you want that software, you have to pay for it. I emailed HP to ask if there were any 'freestyle' templates to download and there aren't.

So I got a refund and bought the Canon MP630 from Amazon.

It is great. The CD template is very flexible.
You can choose your text size, colour and font and you can put photos on with ease. And there is plenty of room to print a website and email address.
It prints onto the printable CD's with ease. Just pull down the CD lever and insert the CD and tray when you are prompted to do so.
Easy-peasy.
It scans and copies documents and photo's well too.
It is a bit on the large side, so you need a decent space to house it.
And it's great to finally be able to print off photos without them having those lines or bands across them like with my old Epson.
