Canon’s class leading 1pl FINE print engine delivers an astonishing resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi and a spectacular 20 second 10 x 15cm (4 x 6”) borderless photo print, enabling superior photo-lab quality output at speed. Canon’s High Performance 5 Single Ink System includes two blacks - one for printing crisp laser sharp text, the other for photos to give strong saturated blacks – delivering exceptional quality.  The single Ink System also means that, instead of replacing a multi-coloured cartridge and wasting unused ink, you only replace the colour ink tank that runs out, saving you money!

You can print wirelessly from any Wi-Fi enabled computer in your house. The PIXMA MP640 also includes built-in Ethernet - a wired LAN interface that lets you connect seamlessly to a home or office network, so all the computers connected can share the power of PIXMA.

Save paper and be friendly to the environment
Print on both sides of the page without the hassle of turning the page manually using Built-In Auto Duplex Printing. This saves you time, money and paper – plus you’re helping the environment! To add to your options, 2-way paper feeding lets you load paper from the front cassette or rear tray, allowing use of both plain and photo paper at the same time. The printer will intelligently choose the right source for the printing task at hand. Manually switching from one tray to the other is also easy, while the self-operating output tray automatically opens when printing or copying so no more paper jams.

You’re not restricted to printing on paper either as the PIXMA MP640 comes complete with a special tray so you can print directly onto printable DVDs and CDs. Just insert a compatible memory card into the easily accessible built-in card slots or connect via PictBridge to print directly from your digital camera, DV camcorder or camera phone. In addition you can print using the optional BU-30 wireless Bluetooth unit. The huge 7.5cm TFT display screen with Easy-Scroll Wheel lets you easily view, select and edit your images for simple computer-free printing. No downloading needed - just watch a slide show, pick your picture and print! Or maybe you need special paper like music sheets, graph paper or calendars in a hurry?  Choose the Template Printing option from the display screen and in seconds you’ll have the type of paper you need to ease all those homework worries.

Automatic correction to make every print perfect
Built-in Auto Photo Fix II technology with Red-Eye Removal and Multi-zone Exposure Correction is perfect for your home photo lab as it automatically fixes your photos at the printer, giving you flawless results without the need for a computer.

Red-eye occurs when using a photographic flash very close to the camera lens (as with most compact cameras) in ambient low light. Based on Canon’s market-leading intelligent camera technology Auto Photo Fix II will remove any red eye from your pictures as well as fix the brightness of unexposed areas of the photo with Multi-zone Exposure Correction. For instance, it will automatically brighten faces that are backlit and under-exposed and ensure more accurate skin tones to help you produce gorgeous images.

Exclusive to Canon, Easy-PhotoPrint is the fast and easy way to re-touch your digital photos and print them in a choice of size and layouts. It features an intuitive on-screen display for quick and easy image and paper selection, print-quality and layout. This FREE in box new Easy-WebPrint EX software offers a range of options to help you organise the information you want to print from the internet - and avoid wasting paper printing the details you don’t need.
